Organic farming

Organic farming is the most environmentally compatible form of agriculture. Yet ‘organic’ means more than just farming without synthetic chemicals. The understanding of complex procedures in and on soils and with farmed animals as well as a farming cycle as complete as possible, with a diverse structure, are the principles and prerequisites for successful organic farming.

  • Brochure on organic farming

    The Ministry of Life has published 2005 a revised edition of the brochure “Organic Farming in Austria”. In addition to a statistical part, it answers e.g. questions like what the typical features of organic farming are and how stringently organic products are controlled.
